I dont have a problem with people not looking like the character as long as a)they are not snorlax, and b) the costume is kickass. Im not going to tell someone they suck because they just got some ugly genes.

Yeah I guess... didn't say he sucked though, just didn't think he was near as good as the 2nd and 5th pics.

Obviously Black Kamina and Hambeast Nea (last pic) are the bestest though.

The whole "not looking like the character you're costuming as" is why for the longest time I didn't do "face" characters and always did someone with a mask or helmet. It really wasn't until Link (Because Joker Henchmen don't count) that I actually did a costume with an exposed face, and even now I do feel kind of trepidatious about doing Link, becuase I don't really look much like the character.

Although, Link has sort of gotten me over my own "no face characters" mentality enough to do a David Tennant Doctor. I'm hoping by growing out my hair and actually bothering to style it right (Why do some many 10th Doctors not bother to really try to style the hair?) and having enough "extras" (Sonic Screw Driver, Glasses, 3-D glasses) I can pull it off and not look too goofy.

We should start one of those "Hey Who should I cosplay as/Who do I look like threads".....

I think you do really good as Link. Besides the Link in the game kinda looks girly, and you bring it into the real world by giving him a nice masculine touch. Yeah I'm a little nervous about my face too not looking like the characters but I think if you do your costume well, it doesn't matter that much. Just think of the costumes you've liked on others in the past- do they always look like the characters? I find that as long as the costume looks good, then it doesn't matter if you look a little different than the actual character.
