Rule 32: Enjoy the Little Things Empty
PostSubject: Rule 32: Enjoy the Little Things   Rule 32: Enjoy the Little Things EmptyMon Feb 15, 2010 11:08 pm

Figured there was enough rage going on, and seeing as that thread is pretty popular, I figured we needed some positivity. So just post whatever little things happen in the day that make you happy, pleasantly surprised, laugh, or just didn't suck as much as you thought it would. I'll start.

There was absolutely no work at the paper, and when that happens, I have to go home. Normally, this would be my happy thing, but I need money, so I wanted to work. So I left to go rest up (still sick, but getting better), and I stopped by a gas station to gas up and get some tissues. I decided I needed a Diet Mt. Dew, as I am want to do, so I take two boxes of tissues and the soda up to the counter. The lady rung up the tissues, but I didn't notice until I got to the car that she didn't ring up the soda. And I put it right beside the tissues, so it's not like I hid it in my pocket or anything. So...free Diet Mt. Dew! Made my day a little better!

Yay for free stuff, yo. I finished my kimono today...didn't go into work. I was in the shower this morning getting ready (soap in my hair, mind you) and my cell phone rang and I just turned off the water and grabbed it. "Don't have to go in, you say? Wooo hooo!"

Free stuff, Heather in the shower, and days off work. Thread is off to a good start!

Ok yeah I think I'm starting to finally understand Microsoft Exel (after having to learn it on my own), so that's definitely something good.

so rule 32... I wonder if rule 34 is the same with zombies?

The engineers just so happened to schedule the line part replacement/maintenance week, which does not require us techs to be there, the same week as Snowpocalypse round II, so I do not have to worry about trying to make into into Middletown, the land of we don't plow our roads, on I-75, the highway of daily near death experiences, in some of the most abysmal driving conditions yet.

So, while I am not making any money this week, I do not have to stress out over driving in this mess. And trust me, in my now nigh constant nervous state while driving, I have nothing but the greatest sympathy for those of you who are required to trudge through the snow to work this week.

I like how the Snowtrooper pictures are not only awesome, but also have a literal translation to the name of the thread!

That is sweet! Yes I have always both loved and hated the ice planet Hoth. I wish we would get some weather from Tatooine for a while. Anyway, I went to the county clerk's office today because I got a bill for $40 in taxes on my car I just bought, and I found out it was a mistake and I didn't have to pay it! Sweet. That's $40 back in my pocket.

I could have sworn I had two Snow Troopers, but could only find the one when I went digging through the containers of old Star Wars toys. I might actually go out tonight and pick up another one to take some more "Fun in the Snow" pictures tomorrow.

Oh yeah, remember that book test that I don't own the book for? Well it was for my night class tonight, which turned out to be canceled. I feel like Bart Simpson in that episode where he prays for school to be canceled.

Well, don't be like Bart for the rest of the episode. He got a D on that test.

As I was driving around the corner to go to work, I had my fingers crossed on the steering wheel that they had closed and forgot to call me. But it turned out to be a pretty good day, I had the book club and they actually liked the book I picked.

So, I am now the base model for at least 3 Spider-man Marvel Sketch Cards, and now a Star Wars Topps trading card.....so can I start getting booked at Conventions as a guest like some of those model chicks who are always guests/in the artist alley?

I saw one of the Marvel Sketch Cards they based off of your photo, but I didn't know there were two others, as well as a Star Wars Topps card. You definitely need to make some money off of this. I mean, they're making money off of your likeness...your likeness dressed as the likeness of their characters...but your likeness none the less!

Here are the Marvel Cards I know of, considering the guy used the same picture for atleast two cards, he might have used it for more.

The Marvel Sketch cards are one off, one of a kind things, the artist literally draws right on a blank card, and it is inserted into a trading card pack. I saw the one of me and the Human Torch going on eBay for around $350.

Sweet! You need to sign autographs at cons now and get a spray tan and act like you own the place and stuff.

Since I'm trying to revive every thread (maybe) I'll post something that I thoroughly enjoy.

March Madness. College Basketball is God Tier of sports.

I like... transfers! I start sunday in my new department. Quality control Or icqa. A shift, Sun-Wed 7am-5:30pm! This is a time change too! I no longer get off at 6pm. And since I've been going in at 7am already (I work 10 1/2 hours, not including my lunch which would put my work day at 11 hours) its no bother. The only downside is that I will not be getting 30 minutes of overtime every day. Granted I actually have to work 40 hours to get that over time and not use any personal time or vacation. If I do then it counts as regular pay and not the time 1/3 but I digress.

Congratulations! Also, I was trying to call you, because Jake and I were going to see Shutter Island tomorrow around noon and wondered if you wanted to come since you don't have work. Could also be a congratulatory movie...sort of. I don't think escaped mental patience is the best subject for a congratulatory movie. Or is it?

The BBC did a story on Iraq and my brother is in the top picture in the story. So I got to 'see' my brother for the first time in months.
