I'm keeping the theory alive, because there wasn't anything particularly "Chris-chan" about the Sonic contest, besides that it was a Sonic contest. He wasn't on a love quest, he didn't embarrass himself; this was Christian Chandler, not "Chris-chan". And we do know that it's possible to embarrass yourself as a kid on a news segment based on that zombie kid who liked turtles.

This is enough evidence that Christian Weston Chandler is a real person, but "Chris-chan" is not.
